Beyond Sport Summit 2010
Beyond Sport, the global initiative that promotes, develops and funds the use of sport to create positive social change, has revealed the winners of the Beyond Sport Awards 2010 on the closing day of the Beyond Sport Summit on 1st October 2010
The catalyst and executive chief of Audacious Dreams Foundation -Mr.dinesh Gajendran joined in the celebration as the award ambassador from India with Kavincarol- the host of Pre summit and Catalyst. Project Visit to Beyond the Ball, the Winner of Courageous Use of Sport 2010. Rural Challengers- an Audacious initiative, selected as Best entered Project 2010 Beyond Sport. Person from UNICEF were came to attend the sport summit 2010.
NBA ALL STAR and Founder of the Dikembe Mutombo Foundation &Humanitarian in Sport Award Winner 2010. Alison Murray, Project green hands, Winner Sport for Environment 2010 Baroness Tanni Grey Thompson-International Inspiration Ambassador and one of the most decorated female Paralympians in history.
One of Britain’s greatest paralympic athletes, Tanni Grey-Thompson crowned a magnificent career with two gold medals in the 100 and 400 metres in the 2004 Athens Paralympics. It took her remarkable medal haul over 16 years and five Paralympic Games to 11 gold, 3 silver and a bronze and established her as one of the most gifted and courageous sportswomen of her generation.
Tanni also won the London Wheelchair Marathon 6 times between 1992 and 2002 were participated in the summit.
The Rural changers- the initiative from Audacious Dreams Foundation selected and awarded as the best entered project of 2010. The empowering rural people through sports were the ultimate aim of the project.
