Global Youth Service Day, 2012
Global Youth Service Day is a yearly campaign that encourages the children and the youth of the world to collaborate with local institutions, non-profit organizations, faith-based programs, government agencies and other volunteer organizations to combat the world’s most serious issues and to spread awareness of these issues through their community on Global Youth Service Day. Over 100 countries on 6 different continents are participating in Global Youth Service Day this year and Audacious Dreams Foundation is also one of the parts of that event. Global Youth Service Day, 2012 the Largest Youth service Event in the World hosted by Youth Service America. Audacious Dreams Foundation (ADF) youth led social organization driven for social change acted as Partner organization in India to run GYSD 2012 events for Asia Pacific Regional Coordination Centre- Srilanka United Nations Friendship Organization (SUNFO).
In Gudiyattam, Audacious Dreams Foundation (ADF) and Audacious Academy for Sports and Social Development (AASSD), in association with Asia-Pacific Regional Partner’s Coordinating Centers conducted the campaigns and cultural events to bring awareness among the Young People.
On July 27, 2012 a walk campaign was organized by Audacious Dreams Foundation in partner with Rotary Club of Gudiyattam, to bring Awareness about the Global Youth Service Day, where around 1700 students at Gudiyattam participated in that campaign. On the same day, Polio Campaign was also organized by ADF, partnered with Rotary Club of Gudiyattam. In which, the students from Indian Institute of Paramedical organized the campaign by giving Polio to the children and gave awareness about Polio to the public. Sports and Cultural events were conducted at Government Village Panchayat School. The students enthusiastically participated in the Game events such as Lemon in the spoon, balloon buster, etc and at the end of the day the students were issued prizes.
The Women empowerment campaign was organized on behalf of Women’s Day; a seminar was conducted on the topics of women empowerment and Global Youth Service Day to 400 women’s by Mr. Dinesh Gajendran, Catalyst and Executive Director of Audacious Dreams Foundation. The computer Literacy campaign was also organized in Government schools to inoculate the basic knowledge about computer to the school kids. Mr. Dinesh Gajendran took the initiative to conduct the Computer Literacy Campaign to the school students in order to develop the literacy level of the village students.
The seminar on Millennium Development Goals and Global Youth Service Day was conducted at the Government Schools which is nearby Gudiyattam town. The students enthusiastically participated and interacted with Mr. Dinesh Gajendran about the Millennium Development Goals and youth services in the society. The White band Campaign was organized by Audacious Dreams Foundation in order to celebrate Global Youth Service Day.
