Youth Resource Centre, Audacious Dreams Foundation (ADF) in association with Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development – RGNIYD, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India Youth Resource Centre Awareness conducted a workshop to institutions which focused on the capacity building of Principals, Teachers and student/ youth representatives of the institutions on “My Institution My Pride”, in order to create an Road to Development for institute heads and adolescent youths.

The workshop held at St.Johns Matriculation School, Gudiyattam with 25 teachers and 20 students. The workshop was facilitated by Mr.Dinesh Gajendran –catalyst and Founder of Audacious Dreams Foundation. The Adolescent youths and teachers from various institutions were participated in the workshop.

Adolescence may be defined as the period in life when most of a person’s biological, cognitive, psychological, and social characteristics are changing in an interrelated manner from what is considered childlike to what is considered adult like. When most of one’s characteristics are in this state of change, one is an adolescent.

The awareness between adolescents on the health development and social welfare were created to the students. Students presented their presentation on adolescent health care in charts and portrayed their presentation in the understandable manner to everyone.

The institution took a big initiative in the Adolescent development and institution also participated in the workshop. The students expressed their views about their pride on their institution. The institution supports the students to make a road to development of adolescent youths.

The workshop mainly focused on the role of an institution in development of youth. The session started with an ice breaker. After the ice breaker the students and facilitator were engaged well. Then the activity based on lifeskill was conducted which gave an opinion about the lifeskill to the adolescent youths. The deep discussion was created between the parents and teachers on their role and how they can lead the adolescent for their development. The brainstorm on the institutions engagement and parent’s duties to create the empowerment of the adolescent were created. Then youths were made into some groups and were asked to express their view on the role of their institution in the adolescent youth development. Every group presented their views through charts to the other participants.

The session was ended up with the feedbacks and the benefits of the workshops, sharing their whole day experience with each other and their participation in the adolescent youth development. Then there was speech from the Guest of Honour for the day, Mrs. Vijayalakhsmi, Treasurer, Inner Wheel Club of Gudiyattam on the youth’s active participation in the development of adolescent health. Chief Guest for the day Sr.Jayakodi, Principal, St.Johns Matric Hr Sec School thanked the guest of honour and Audacious Dreams Foundation for the opportunity. The session finally winded up with a group photo shoot.
