UNITED NATIONS HIGH LEVEL MEETING ON YOUTH – OFFICIAL
Mr.Dinesh Gajendran Catalyst and Founder of Audacious Dreams Foundation Represented India in The Duke Of Edinburgh’s Award International Association in The United Nations High Level Meeting on Youth, UN Headquarters, General Assembly, Newyork,USA. As part of the International Year of Youth, the General Assembly will hold a high-level meeting on youth on 25 and 26 July 2011. The High Level Meeting will have as its overarching theme “Youth: Dialogue and Mutual Understanding”. The High Level Meeting on Youth is scheduled to take place from 25 to 26 July 2011 at the General Assembly, United Nations Headquarters in New York. The High-Level Meeting will comprise two consecutive informal interactive thematic panel discussions on 25 July 2011 and two plenary meetings on 26 July 2011. Mr.Dinesh Gajendran was in the one of the discussion panel for strengthening international cooperation regarding youth and enhancing dialogue,
mutual understanding and active youth participation as indispensable elements towards achieving social integration, full employment and the eradication of poverty and also there was the discussion on Challenges to youth development and opportunities for poverty eradication, employment and sustainable development. Arrangements for Participation were in Consultative Status with ECOSOC and New Accredited NGOs registered to attend the High Level Meeting on Youth.
The UN Program on Youth in cooperation with NGO’s Restless Development and Search for Common Ground and with the support of the UN Office for Partnership, hosted a day long Side Event to the High Level Meeting on Youth to address the relationships between young people and the private sector, as well as the ways in which young people engage philanthropically in public and private development strategies.The catalyst and executive chief of Audacious dreams foundation Mr.Dinesh Gajendran was the one only one from India to participate in the United Nations high level meeting on youth held at New York.
